*The following links and specific brands are geared towards options found in the USA*
When looking for a good diet, it's important to remember two key factors. GA and variety. It's vital that a hamster has a diet with the correct amounts of proteins, fats, fibers, and more. These numbers will vary from diet to diet, but there's a certain range they should stay within. With commercial diets it's important to find high-quality lab pellets and mix them in with a high variety seed mix, all while making sure the GA is within the hamster's needs.
Here in the USA one of the best mixes out there is from RobinsGourmetFood on Etsy. Not only does her food have a lot of variety and all the nutritional value a hamster needs, but it's also specified to fit your hamster's species and age :) The owner of the shop is also very helpful in answering questions you might have about the product and is willing to help modify her mixes to fit your specific needs. The only downside I have with this food is the cost of shipping. It can be a tad bit expensive but definitely worth it if you are willing to pay the price!
In my personal opinion, the next best option here in the USA would be a 45/50 mix of Mazuri Rat and Mouse Diet and Higgins Sunburst Hamster and Gerbil Mix. It gives a proper GA for most species and ages of hamsters as well as decent variety. While these may not be the highest of quality, options here in the USA are very limited. These can most likely be found at your local pet store or ordered online.
